Main Training Programme Attended
• The Association deputed General Secretary, to attend a “Crash course on Entrepreneurship Programme” from 14th – 16th Sept.1999 at Shillong Organised by Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati.
• “State Level Voluntary Association Meet” on 26th Oct., 1999 organised by NABARD, Shillong in collaboration with Bosco Reach Out at Don Bosco Shillong, the programme is attended by the General Secretary of the Association.
• “District Level Youth Development Programme” at Jowai organized by the District Planning Office from 29th to 31st Jan, 2002, The training is attended by the Joint Secretary of the Association Shri. P.B. Khonglah.
• “Community Based Demand Reduction on Drugs” from 28th to 30th March 2000 at Shillong Organised by United Nation Drugs Control Programme in collaboration with Synjuk Seng Samla Shnong, Shillong. Shri. C.F.S. Ghonglah and Shri. L.Lanong attended the training programme.
• The Association attended the “All Meghalaya Associations Meet” at NEHU Campus Shillong on 29th Feb. 2002 organised by Sociology department NEHU Shillong where The Objective of the Programme is build up the capacity of the NGOs working in rural development.
• “NGO-Bankers Interface Workshop” from 15th – 17th Feb.2002 at Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati organized by the National Bank for Agricultural Development, Guwahati. The programme attended by the General Secretary of the Association.
• “Exhibition of Mahila Shakti Mela” from 6th – 7th March 2002 is taking part by the Association organized by the Meghalaya State Social Welfare Advisory Board, Shillong at Jowai.
• Training on “ Organiser for Awareness Generation Programme for Women “ at Pastoral Centre, Shillong, from 1st to 10th March 2002 and attended by Ms. Rimika Lanong, Asst. Joint Secretary Child & Women Development Committee. The Programme Organised by R.S.Lyngdoh Training Centre and sponsored by the Meghalaya State Social Welfare and Advisory Board, Shillong.
• “Block Level SGSY Training Programme” organized by the Community and Rural Development, Amlarem Block on 14th March,2002 which is attended by the Joint Secretary of the Association Shri. P.B.Khonglah.
• “Investment Opportunity in Meghalaya” a one day workshop organized by North Eastern Development Finance Cooperation Ltd., Shillong at Shillong on 22nd April,2002, Shri.C.F.S. Ghonglah Working General Secretary attended the Workshop.
• ‘NGO’s Exchanges Programme’ organized by R.S.Lyngdoh Training Centre and Voluntary Health Association of Meghalaya at Imphal, Manipur from 2nd to 7th August 2003. The Programmes attended by the working General Secretary Shri. C.F.S. Ghonglah and Coordinator Shri.S.F.Lyngdoh.
• Training on”Programme on Project Identification, Planning and Documentation for Rural Development” from 8th to 10th May 2003, organized by the State Institute of Rural Development, Nonggsder. Working General Secretary, Shri. C.F.S. Ghonglah attended the Traning Programme.
• “Training of Community Facilitators for Self Help Groups” at State Institute of Rural Development, Nongsder and Sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development Government of India from 1st April2004 to September 2005. The one and half year training was attended by 3 (three) members of the Association:- Shri. C.F.S.Ghonglah Working General Secretary, Shri. Tenzing Nongpoh Block Coordinator and Ms.S.P.Kasiej Block Coordinator.
• “Management of Credit for SGSY Programme” at State Institute Of Rural Development, Nongsder and sponsored by National Institute of Rural Development (North Eastern Regional Centre), Guwahati from 4th to 8th October, 2004 and attended by Shri. C.F.S.Ghonglah Working General Secretary, and Ms.S.P.Kasiej Block Coordinator of the Association.
• Exposure Trip of the Association’s Members to NERCRMP-IFAD Project of West Khasi Hills District. The Association have send the 3 (three) core members (Shri. C.F.S.Khonglah, Shri. Tenzing Nongpoh and Ms. S.P.Kasiej) for exposure cum-training on the concept of IFAD project implemented at Mairang Cluster under the supervision of SELDA-KJP Project Partner from 3rd to 7th May 2005. The field visit was conducted by the Supervisor of the NGO including the Nonglang Village (Model Village), Nongkrem Village, Mawlum Village, etc. The main focus area and training subject given by the Supervisor and Community Coordinator Shri. K.Wahlang and Ms. A.Syiem during the visit is listed below:
a) System on implementing the IFAD Project.
b) Concept and functions of Self Help Groups
c) Savings and lending processes
d) Credit Linkages for the CBO’s
e) Recovery Plan setup by CBO’s for recovery of Loans from members
f) Gender issues
g) Concept and functions of NaRM-Gs/Village Development Committees
h) Financial Management of CBO’s
i) Concept of Community participation and contribution
j) Book of records maintained by these CBO’s
k) Natural Resource Management.
• “Training On Agriculture and Allied”: Two members of the Association Shri. Genielson Khonglah and Ms. Wanshai Khonglah are under ongoing Training on Agriculture and Allied at Jowai, conducted by the District Agriculture Office, Jowai from the month of June 2005 till date. The purpose of the training is to enhance the knowledge and technical knowhow to the members of the Association for imparting training to the farmers in the community.
• “Certificate Course on Methods of Working in the Community” organized by the Centre for Adult and Continuing Education, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong from 2nd to 4th November 2005 at Rani Abode, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong. The programme was attended by Shri. L.Lanong, Joint Secretary Publication and Information of the Association. The main purpose of the training is to train and buildup the capacity of the members of the Voluntary Organisations working in the community development.
