Meghalaya Rural Development Society

 

The International Fund for Agricultural Development [ IFAD] , a specialized agency of the United Nations Organisation working against against poverty and hunger, along with the Govrnment of India and Meghalaya is jointly funding “ The Livelihoods Improvement Project for the Himalayas” in the state of Meghalaya.The project is implemented through the Meghalaya Rural Development Society- Livelihood Finance Company of Meghalaya [ MRDS-LIFCOM]. In Jaintia Hills District the MRDS engaged with the Association as Facilitating NGO as FNGO partner for implementation the project at Laskein Block. The Momorandum of Understanding (MOU) was singed on June 2006.

 

The project’s primary objective is to improve the livelihood of vulnerable groups in a sustainable manner through the promotion of improved livelihood opportunities and strengthening of local institutions that relate to livelihood development.
